Below is my process that I typically use for writing Arts Council Grants but it can apply to other grants too.

Access Support:

You might be eligible for Access Support. This is where the Arts Council pay for a support worker to help you write and remove any barriers that make it difficult for you to apply. If you require access support, apply for access support using their online form here. It can take a couple of weeks for the support to be approved so please bare this in mind.

Part One

1) You write an A4 page which explains what you want to do and why, this will include the names of ideal or potential project partners and a brief CV of your achievements in your specified practice (the kind of text you’d put in a bio)

If you have not created an applicant profile on Grantium then you can do here

2) Jack asks some questions and turns those notes into a budget and timeline.

3) Meeting one: Discuss the timeline and budget, discuss potential partners, and the attachment/example of work needed for the application. You contact potential project partners to confirm their commitment/letters of support.

Part Two

4) Jack writes a first draft of all text sections in the application (this can be bullet points and paragraphs). Refines budget and timeline based on Meeting one. First draft sent to you for feedback.

5) Meeting two: Go through first draft and amendments.

6) Jack writes 2nd Draft of full application. You confirm participation from project partners.

7) Jack makes final amendments to application.

Part Three

8) Jack inputs all information onto Grantium, You send over letters of support & example of work attachment.

9) Final read through & edits to application in Grantium (Meeting 3).

10) Submit application.
